A simple vista, se pueden apreciar fibras finas de lana de acero en la superficie de la pastilla, lo que permite distinguirlas f\u00e1cilmente de las pastillas de freno cer\u00e1micas. Adem\u00e1s, presentan ciertas propiedades magn\u00e9ticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La presencia de fibras de lana de acero confiere a las pastillas de freno semimet\u00e1licas una mayor resistencia estructural y conductividad t\u00e9rmica, adem\u00e1s de una elevada sensibilidad de frenado y una excelente eficiencia de frenado a altas temperaturas. Son adecuadas para las condiciones de frenado de veh\u00edculos de alta velocidad y de gran tonelaje. Una ventaja importante de las pastillas de freno semimet\u00e1licas es su gran capacidad para controlar la temperatura y su resistencia a temperaturas de frenado m\u00e1s elevadas. Durante el frenado, ayudan a disipar el calor de la superficie del disco de freno y a transferirlo a la pinza de freno y a sus componentes. Igualmente importante es que las pastillas de freno semimet\u00e1licas ofrecen una excelente relaci\u00f3n calidad-precio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, las pastillas de freno semimet\u00e1licas tambi\u00e9n presentan inconvenientes: debido a su elevado contenido en metal, son m\u00e1s propensas a generar ruido en comparaci\u00f3n con las pastillas de freno cer\u00e1micas.
